O, The Oprah Magazine was release in April 2001. O, The Oprah Magazine is often abbreviated to a simple O. It is a monthly magazine for women founded by Oprah Winfrey and the Hearst Corporation.
Oprah Winfrey's focus on women stems from that statistical demographic that 75% of the Oprah Winfrey Show audience is women. Oprah also co-founded the Oxygen Network, a television station targeting women. The Oprah Book Club also has a high concentration of women who support it. For example, it was on Oprah The Secret which targeted the female audience with its female speaker, Rhonda Byrne, whom the female audience could relate to.
As the only black woman ever on the Forbes richest list, Oprah Winfrey is the epitome of female empowerment. In any Oprah Winfrey biography, Oprah's life is a rags to riches story. Being both a minority and a woman, Oprah rose from poverty to become a cultural icon.
O, The Oprah Magazine is one of the many forms of success with Oprah's name and photograph on the cover. Such a magazine provides a role model for any professional woman and/or minority. O, The Oprah Magazine is not only a fabulous publication, but is also an inspiration and reminder of the product of hard work and success. This is certainly an American dream.
