Economists and reporters alike claim that everything Oprah touches turns to gold. It is easy to see how Oprah has the modern age "Midas Touch".
For example, the Oprah Book Club is a book club segment on The Oprah Winfrey Show, highlighting books chosen by host Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey started the book club circa 1996 by selecting new books each month. Because of the book club's wide popularity, many obscure titles have become very popular bestsellers, increasing sales by as many as a million copies. The term "The Oprah Effect" describes the phenomenon evident from the Oprah Book Club.
A book that was seen on The Oprah Winfrey Show is called The Secret. On Oprah The Secret produced a huge response and tons of criticism. However, this has certainly only helped The Secret's success.
The Oprah Book Club isn't Oprah's only connection to publications. Oprah has her own magazine called O, The Oprah Magazine. It's average paid circulation is 2.7 million copies. Oprah has been the cover girl on each magazine since it's initial release.
Oprah's inspirational success can be found by reading an Oprah Winfrey biography either on Wikipedia Encyclopedia or the website of the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah didn't start out with a silver spoon in her mouth. She began in poverty, was sexually abused, and even suffered the loss of a child at the age of 14. Oprah suffered and finally persevered by using her intelligence and getting an education. Once she starred on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the public embraced her personable interview style and she was soon on her way to becoming a billionaire success story and philanthropist.
