The Oprah Winfrey Show - it's not just about looking good past 45
Although many people consider the Oprah Winfrey show to be for girls only, what with the talk about losing weight and looking good at 45 and beyond, few realize that this show can also have stuff for other audiences, namely guys.
A few months ago I saw an episode on the Oprah Winfrey show that really called to mind the relationship between us and the government, security and privacy issues and other very compelling ideas. This family had come in as guests invited by Oprah to show their expression of commitment to a chip that had been implanted under their skin as a tracking device. They believed that with the recent "homeland security threats" that they were in danger and this was the safest way to know they were protected.
It was really interesting, and the family was very strange. But this called in to question for the viewers what they thought about a lot of things, and served - through the controversy - to bring out a lot of very good debate. So, I learned from that episode that you can trust the Oprah Winfrey show to deliver more than just superficial stuff at times and really hit home with some of its programs.
