oprah winfrey show I don't know how many of you have been exposed to either the book or the movie, The Secret. This production is such an over hyped presentation of self help psychology, and I find it to be a dangerous concept, to believe that by wishing for more, you can get it, as their "Law of Attraction" states. Late last winter, the Oprah Winfrey show devoted two episodes to The Secret, and for all my reasoning, I could not understand why. This book, The Secret, is just so much hocus pocus, and given the that Oprah Winfrey Show has to maintain some semblance of credibility, I was surprised that her producers gave The Secret so much air time. Some of the premises in the book are OK, but for me to believe that people who are struggling with cancer, or HIV or AIDS, or the truly impoverished among us are so poor because that's what they really want is too far a stretch from reality for me to even conceive of. It just surprises me that the Oprah Winfrey Show would tout such a speculative claim to another reality beyond the tangible one.
