Should Oprah lead the country? With all this talk about the top Democratic candidates being a black male and a white woman, has anyone ever thought the following:

"Why not have both characteristics in one presidential candidate?"

The Oprah Winfrey Show has transformed Oprah into a pop culture phenomenon. The Oprah Winfrey biography sounds like the stuff of legends. Oprah was born into poverty, but perservered. She is proof of the American Dream and the "rags to riches" tale.

It's obvious that Oprah has the skills to be a peaceful diplomat. Its also apparent that Oprah has the ability to launch a candidate into the mainstream consciousness (i.e. Barack Obama). With Oprah's apparently successful support with Barack Obama, is it possible for Oprah to support herself and become the next presidential candidate for 2012?

Oprah is a successful brand. She is already in control of various media vehicles: The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Oprah Magazine, the Oprah Book Club, and her own channel. Oprah could essentially use these established mediums as her launchpad into success. Imagine the possibilities. Oprah could essentially campaign to the public on the Oprah Winfrey Show. The Oprah Winfrey Show certainly has a huge chunk of viewers. She could feature herself as a politician in the Oprah Magazine. She could also put her own autobiography in the Oprah Book Club.

I would vote for Oprah. Would you?
